Do not reject a hadeeth if your flawed mind cannot comprehend it

Sufyan ibn `Abdil Malik said when Ibn Mubarak (rahimahullah) mentioned this [1] hadeeth and some people denied it so Ibn Mubarak said : These bad people will restrict us from narrating this report so as to have us abandon or leave this hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam . Will we leave (reject) every hadeeth whose meaning (and implications) we don’t know?! No, rather we will narrate it just as we heard it and put the blame of our ignorance (about its meaning) on ourselves (i.e. inability to not learn its meaning from proper sources or those who knew it)

[Ref: Musnad Ishaq ibn Rahawy 1/387 no. 418 shamela]

[1] It seems like this is the hadeeth of the prophet sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam wherein he mentioned that by he in whose hand is my soul, it is more beloved to me that I sit with those people who from the time of Fajr till the sun rises are engaged in supplicating to Allah and making his dhikr than freeing 4 slaves from the children of Isma`eel. Or free (four) like them from (the prayer of) `Asr until the sun sets [Ref: Sunan abi dawood, Book of knowledge 3667; Hasan].

The reason this could be talking about the abi dawood narration is because this hadeeth of Musnad ishaaq is also narrated by Marwazi in Ta`dheem qadr as-salat no. 559; isnad Hasan
